Whilst there isn't a particular need for any special kind of insurance, much like you travel, you need to check with your own insurance company if you have proper cover for a range of situations : Emergency / Medical Repatriation, Cancellation & Curtailement, Travel Delay & Anbandonment (should that impact the very possibility to access your charter yacht upon expected dates of boarding), Missed Departure, Personal Possessions and Baggage, Passport and Travel Documents (if they are lost or stolen and need to be replaced), Personal Accident, Personal Liability, and Legal Expenses.
Your broker can advise you as to the level of detail you will require, but if you have personal medical issues or you simply want extra cover in the unlikely event of anything untoward occuring, then it is best to do so. Prices will vary dependent on each individual case.
The yacht insurance only covers the yacht and crew, there is no provision for charter guests onboard.
