Proudly displaying a whole wealth of heritage and great history, the Citadelle de Calvi is set on a limestone promontory and stands steadfast above the town, offering visitors the most beautiful panoramic views of the surrounding bay.
Built by Genoese governors in 1450, this citadel in Calvi has fended off quite a few major assaults throughout the centuries, including Franco-Turkish invaders and Anglo-Corsican soldiers.
Wander off into history along the cobblestones and take in the beauty of this ancient Citadelle and the 360-degree panorama of the city, the marina and the mountains that look as though they flow into the glistening Mediterranean.
The ancient Citadelle is simply breathtaking
