As the first-ever boat show attended exclusively by Bahamas-based charter yachts, the Bahamas Charter Show will provide an unrivaled opportunity for the industry to get better acquainted with the local fleet and the region’s cruising grounds.
The Bahamas Charter Show is on course for a successful inaugural edition, as the industry-only yachting meet prepares to open its doors between 27 February - 1 March 2020 in Nassau.
Split between Bay Street Marina and the brand new Pointe Marina, the show will play host to a fleet of yachts that reside permanently in the Bahamas, and will be attended by media partners and yacht charter brokers.
The requirements for attending yachts, which state that yachts must be available to charter in the Bahamas without charging delivery fees, ensure that show-goers are able to fully familiarise themselves with the yachts on display and meet with their captains and crew.
The lineup requirements are in place to ensure that show-goers are able to fully familiarise themselves with the yachts on display.
As well as yacht tours, attendees can also participate in panel discussions, social events and a day cruise to nearby Rose Island that will provide invaluable insight into the surrounding region.
Thirteen yachts have confirmed their attendance so far, with many more expected to register their interest in the run-up to the event. The size range of attending yachts is expected to be between 60ft - 205ft.
Among the yachts which have confirmed their attendance so far, Heesen's 145ft (44m) motor yacht 'At Last' will be on display, showing off her charter-focused layout and selection of on-board amenities. The 123ft (38m) luxury yacht HAVEN will be at the show as well, alongside 143ft (43m) superyacht STARSHIP.
Over 50 yacht brokers will also be attending the show, gathering first-hand information on behalf of their clients and expanding their knowledge of the Bahamas yacht charter fleet.
The size range of attending yachts is expected to be between 60ft - 205ft.
The event will also act as a reminder to the yachting community that the Bahamas is very much open for business in the wake of the damage inflicted by Hurricane Dorian last year. Now more than ever, the country’s local economy needs to be supported, and the Bahamas Charter Show will be shining the spotlight on the commercial value that charter brings to the Bahamas and its people.
The show is partnering with Nassau-based charity Ranfurly Homes for Children, which provides housing opportunities and childcare services to displaced children in Nassau. All proceeds will go directly to Ranfurly's new initiative, The Step, which offers housing to young adults transitioning from foster care to independent living; you can find out more about donating to Ranfurly Home.
