The International Superyacht Society (ISS) has teamed up with Wilfred Sultana & Associates (WSA) to present a superyacht industry seminar titled 'Malta, a Better Destination for Superyachts'.
Scheduled to take place on 11th September at the Grand Hotel Excelsior in Valleta, Malta, leading industry professional will take part in the seminar.
Confirmed speakers include president of the ISS and Global superyacht business development manager at AkzoNobel, Ken Hickling. In his speech, Hickling will provide an insight into what actually constitutes 'a better destination for superyachts'.
Honorary secretary and GUEST director of the Professional Yachting Association, Joey Meen, will address careers in the superyacht industry, and luxury yacht charter will be presented as a theme for discussion with Fiona Maureso, vice president of Mediterranean Yacht Brokers Association, and charter director at Northrop and Johnson. The panel includes Peter Fiorini Lowell, director, S.&D. Yachts Ltd; Dr. Alison Vassallo, senior associate, Fenech & Fenech Advocates; and Kurt Fraser, sales & marketing director at Camper & Nicholsons Marinas Ltd.
Ivan Sammut, registrar general of Shipping and Seamen - Merchant Shipping Directorate will focus on Malta's transport initiatives and strategies in favour of the yachting industry, and Dr. Max Ganado, partner at Ganado Advocates, and Christine Cassar Naudi, senior Associate at Ganado Advocates, will discuss fiscal incentives and superyachts costs.
Yacht Refit & Repair in Malta will be another subject presented and discussed, due to the fact that refit and repair services and facilities are amongst Malta's prime identifications associated with the superyacht industry. A panel of three professionals involved in the yachting industry in Malta will discuss and analyse the market. Panelists include Pierre Balzan, managing director Melita Marine Group; Gino Cutajar, president Super Yacht Industry Network Malta and managing director at Cutrico Marine; and Paul L. Cardona, managing director and managing surveyor of MICS Limited (Malta).
The programme of activities for the Yachting in Malta Superyacht Industry Seminar also includes the launch of the Malta Professional Yachting Association (MPYA).
Dr. Chris Cardona, Minister for the Economy, Investment and Small Business, responsible for maritime affairs in general will be the main speaker at the seminar.
