D-Marin has unveiled early details of Marina Livorno, a major new marina development set to reshape the waterfront within the Port of Livorno on Italy’s Tuscan coast. Backed by an investment of €20 million, the project marks a significant expansion of D-Marin’s Italian footprint and is expected to open in phases from 2026, with full completion planned for autumn 2027.
Developed in collaboration with the Azimut|Benetti Group, Marina Livorno occupies a strategically important location close to the group’s renowned shipyards.
This positioning places the marina at a key crossroads for Italy yacht charters, offering direct access to Tuscany, the Tuscan Archipelago, and onward cruising routes to Corsica, a compelling addition for West Mediterranean itineraries.
Construction began in September 2025, with the marina set to deliver 815 berths for yachts ranging from 49 to 262ft (15 to 80m). Of these, 336 berths are scheduled to become operational in 2026, enhancing capacity for both private and commercial yachts.
Once complete, Marina Livorno will feature comprehensive security, concierge services, dining venues, and retail outlets, aligning with the expectations of West Mediterranean yacht charters operating in the region.
Marina Livorno reflects our belief that premium yachting and environmental responsibility can and must advance together.
Designed by Florence-based architectural studio Archea Associati, the development adopts a low-impact approach that prioritises sustainability and visual integration.
Planned features include solar canopies, rainwater recovery systems, green walls, and landscaped boundaries designed to replace traditional fencing, preserving continuity between the marina and the surrounding cityscape.
These initiatives reflect D-Marin’s broader commitment to environmental and operational excellence, a strategy that has been recognised through the company’s EcoVadis Gold Award for ESG performance.
Beyond the marina itself, the project includes extensive public realm enhancements. Plans indicate that the Bacino Piccolo area will be transformed into a water-facing public square, while Molo Mediceo will open up to residents and superyacht charter visitors alike, offering public docking, leisure facilities, green spaces, dedicated parking, and an extended promenade linking the marina with Livorno’s historic port.
For Mediterranean yacht charters, Marina Livorno represents a meaningful upgrade to infrastructure along the Tuscan coast. Its scale, sustainability focus, and proximity to key cruising grounds are likely to enhance itinerary flexibility and berth availability for future seasons.
As demand for high-quality marinas continues to grow across the West Mediterranean, developments such as Marina Livorno play an increasingly important role in shaping the experience of charter guests exploring Italy by yacht.
Renowned for beautiful coastlines, exquisite cuisine, and thought-provoking glimpses into the past, Italy yacht charter itineraries are suitable for charter guests of all ages, with plenty of attractions to see and do throughout the year.
