Port Nimara Takes Shape: Anguilla’s First Superyacht Marina on Track for 2027 Launch

By Anna Ingles   30 October 2025

Construction is now in full swing at Port Nimara, Anguilla’s first dedicated superyacht marina, with phase one scheduled to welcome yachts in early 2027.  The ambitious project, located on the island’s southwest coast near Maundays Bay,  is fast progressing from groundbreaking to full build-out, marking a new chapter in Anguilla’s luxury maritime landscape.

According to the latest project update, basin excavation and marine infrastructure manufacturing are already underway, with heavy-duty pontoons supplied by SF Marina and Consigli Construction leading the build in partnership with local contractors.

When complete, Port Nimara will offer 118 berths for yachts up to 240ft (73m), including a dedicated customs and immigration facility, setting new standards for Caribbean yacht charter arrivals and services in the region.

Our aim is to establish a world-class maritime destination that honors Anguilla’s natural allure while ushering in a new era of economic growth for the island.

David Mizrahi, Managing Partner and CEO, SF Investments

The marina sits strategically between Cap Juluca and Altamer, two of Anguilla’s most prestigious estates, and is envisioned as the heart of a mixed-use waterfront that seamlessly blends maritime excellence with resort-style luxury.

Future development phases include a five-star hotel operated by a renowned New York luxury brand, 18 beachfront villas, and 45 hillside residences, with the potential for 18 additional upland villas, all designed to position Port Nimara as both a yachting hub and a residential retreat.

Port Nimara In The News

The development is a joint venture between TEI Inc., SF Investments, and Antillean Developments, under the leadership of Francis Greenburger, George A. Fraser, and David Mizrahi.

The marina is expected to generate 300–500 jobs, directly supporting Anguilla’s economy while advancing its position within the northeast Caribbean’s superyacht circuit, just 26 nautical miles from St Barts and 11 nautical miles from Saint Maarten’s international airport, making it ideally situated for seamless motor yacht charters and yacht charters in the Caribbean.

The marina’s proximity to the iconic St Barts New Year’s Eve celebrations and popular charter routes in the Leeward Islands makes it an enticing new waypoint for superyacht itineraries.

The marina will serve as an elegant meeting place for yacht owners from all over the world, while the surrounding area will preserve and respect the natural charm of Anguilla.

Sustainable Luxury and Marine Innovation

True to Anguilla’s environmental ethos, Port Nimara is being built with a focus on “sustainable luxury”, integrating resilient marine engineering and eco-conscious design.

Advanced mooring systems, waste management strategies, and energy-efficient technologies are being employed to safeguard Anguilla’s delicate marine ecosystems while delivering a world-class yachting experience.

Complementing the marina, Clayton J. Lloyd International Airport is also undergoing a major expansion, extending its runway to 7,800 feet to accommodate large private jets and commercial aircraft. The upgrade will enable direct access from key North American gateways, an essential boost for Anguilla yacht charter guests.

Caribbean Marina Developments on the Rise

Across the wider Caribbean, marina infrastructure continues to expand in response to growing superyacht demand.

Canouan’s Sandy Lane Yacht Club has solidified its status as a top-tier base for charter operations, while Hurricane Hole Superyacht Marina in the Bahamas recently completed a multi-phase redevelopment, introducing luxury residences and world-class amenities.

Meanwhile, Antigua’s expansion of Falmouth Harbour facilities and St Kitts’ Christophe Harbour upgrades signal a strong regional commitment to accommodating larger yachts and supporting sustainable charter growth.
