REGINA changes name to sailing yacht ‘Aria I’

By Rebecca Bradbury   12 February 2019

Medyat’s 56m/184ft superyacht REGINA, renowned for appearing in Skyfall, the James Bond movie starring Daniel Craig, has been renamed as superyacht ‘Aria I’ ahead of her summer charter season in the Mediterranean.

Built by Medyat in 2011, Aria I combines traditional looks with modern technology and a powerful performance. Currently based in Athens, Greece, she is well-known for her film star role but has also proven to be an extremely popular charter option for cruising the Greek Islands in style and comfort.

Keen sailors love feeling the exhilaration of the sailing yacht’s impressive performance under sail while an array of leisure facilities ensure a variety of charter parties are always kept entertained.

Thanks to a wide beam there is plenty of space on her teak decks to enjoy the surrounds. On the foredeck, a comfortable settee and a 12-person table provide the perfect setting for an al fresco breakfast in the morning or for catching up over sundowners later on in the day.

Daytime relaxation on a yacht charter, meanwhile, centres on an oversized sun pad aft. A large tent can be set up here to provide shade from the sun if required. Or guests can choose to cool off in the refreshing Mediterranean waters by taking a dip or accessing the excellent water toy collection.

However charterers spend their day, the entire charter party can be brought together in the evening over a delicious al fresco dinner served in the aft deck dining area. There is a wet bar close at hand here too, offering the chance to continue the conversation over a nightcap.

Luxury yacht Aria I also impresses throughout her interior, where sapele mahogany wall panels and joinery are offset by neutral-hued furnishings for a classic look guaranteed to put all at ease.

In the main salon, a long, L-shaped sofa tempts guests to take a seat while, opposite, a dining table offers an ideal setup for formal dinner parties. There is also a white grand piano, adding a stately touch of luxury, while large windows create dreamy backdrops of the cruising grounds.

The styling continues into the six staterooms, comprised of a full-beam master suite with its own private salon, a VIP cabin, two double cabins and two twin cabins. In total, she can sleep 12 guests.
