Superyacht ‘Big Fish’ Open for New Year’s Eve Charter in South East Asia

By Rebecca Bradbury   18 October 2016

The innovative 45m/148ft expedition yacht ‘Big Fish’ from New Zealand shipyard McMullen & Wing is available for a New Year’s Eve charter in stunning South East Asian destinations such as Thailand and Myanmar.

A blue water cruiser, Big Fish has adventured to some of the world’s most exotic countries since her launch in 2010 and now charter guests will be able to welcome in 2017 aboard the luxury yacht in the beautiful cruising grounds of South East Asia.

Choose from the remote waters of Myanmar resplendent in wild beauty and unexplored islands, the region’s yachting hub of Thailand laced in beautiful beaches and colourful cultures, or the magnificent and mesmerising archipelago of Indonesia.

Away from the usual New Year’s Eve yachting hotspots such as St Bart and Sydney, charterers can expect intimate yet unforgettable celebrations with their nearest and dearest in the secluded serenity offered by some of the most captivating places on the planet.

Despite her rugged looks, charter yacht Big Fish boasts incredibly luxurious spaces inside and out in which to mark the New Year. She also manages to maintain a close connection to sea thanks to the work of interior designer Greg Marshall, who has created a light, airy and contemporary look.

Glass abounds throughout, with the open-plan main salon home to floor-to-ceiling windows as well as a welcoming lounge and dining area, where the port and starboard bulwarks opposite open to become wide terraces.

A glass staircase with treads of inlaid LEDs soars up three levels from the main deck and is topped by a large skylight, allowing natural light to flood into the interior. Plus, a high-tech, dynamic, three-storey video wall displaying abstract art as well as films and video games backs the structure.

The principal charterer will also be lucky enough to have a private aft terrace large enough for alfresco dining and sunning opportunities

The light oak-panelled master suite on the upper deck also benefits from the extensive use of glass, offering wonderful vistas from the aft-facing bed. The principal charterer will also be lucky enough to have a private aft terrace large enough for alfresco dining and sunning opportunities.

Similar uncluttered styling continues into the remainder of the staterooms, comprising four double cabins on the lower deck. This means the expedition yacht can sleep up to 10 guests on luxury yacht charters.

A variety of deck areas are well-primed for spending time with family and friend as the clock strikes midnight. Small groups can head to the crow’s nest for intimate gatherings, cocktails can be sipped on the aft deck and alfresco dining can be enjoyed on the sundeck, also equipped with a Jacuzzi, sun pads and lounging options.

Other highlights include a treasure chest of water toys, and decks made of a revolutionary resin-infused granite composite, which is more environmentally friendly than teak and allows guests to wear heels on deck, perfect for New Year Eve’s parties.
