Superyacht SERENE Wows Locals in New Zealand

By Editorial Team   21 January 2015

The arrival of the 134m/439ft luxury charter yacht SERENE in New Zealand’s Auckland Wynyard Wharf has caused a media frenzy as onlookers gather to see the the largest private yacht ever to have entered local waters.

Renowned for her imposing size and impressive facilities, the Fincantieri-built motor yacht SERENE was launched in 2011 with exterior design by Espen Oeino and interior styling by Reymond Langton. This combination of award-winning designers and fine Italian craftsmanship has ensured a superyacht of the highest standards and turns heads wherever she goes.

Last summer it was widely reported that Bill Gates chartered M/Y SERENE in Sardinia with his family for their annual superyacht vacation and no doubt enjoyed her incredible list of onboard amenities. There are multiple pools on offer including hot and cold Jacuzzi’s alongside a spacious jet stream pool as well as a seawater swimming pool that together with a sauna, hammam and beauty centre form the luxurious beach club.

The helipad can also be converted into a swimming pool or a dance floor, perfect for entertaining in breathtaking charter destinations. One of her most notable features is her sea viewing room which has been decorated as the interior of an ancient submarine with glass bottom and offers charter guests an opportunity to see the beautiful marine species of the Caribbean, South Pacific and beyond in their natural habitat.

As a SOLAS/Commercial Passenger vessel M/Y SERENE can accomodate up to 24 guests sleeping in 15 staterooms, this includes an impressive master suite complete with private salon, lounge bar and library as well as a private outdoor deck area featuring a Jacuzzi with glass floor which look down on the ocean below.

As one of the World's Largest Yachts, and the second largest charter yacht behind the 163m / 533ft superyacht Eclipse, she is only made available for private charter to a select clientele. As for her weekly charter rates, as the saying goes if you need to ask then you cannot afford it.

For those looking for the ultimate adventure she may be available for New Zealand luxury yacht charters before moving on to the South Pacific in the next few months, before returning to Mediterannean for the summer yachting season.
