Superyachts Meet for the Newport Charter Yacht Show 2017

By Rebecca Bradbury   14 June 2017

A fantastic fleet of superyachts will be arriving in Rhode Island, New England, over the next few days in time for the 35th edition of the Newport Charter Yacht Show.

Running from 19th to 23rd June, the five-day event is a showcase of luxury charter yachts dedicated exclusively to yacht charter professionals, agents, brokers and captains.

As well as the superyacht presentation, there will be a display of ancillary goods and services for the industry, including superyacht builders, electronic and communication accessories, interior design firms, real estate companies and luxury lifestyle products.

The Newport Charter Show schedule also incorporates a lively event programme, with private yacht luncheons, a chefs’ competition, cocktail and tablescaping contests, seminars and evening parties.

Expected to be the must-see yacht of the show is the award-winning 60m/198ft superyacht ‘Blue Moon’, a 2005 pedigree Feadship build. Among her highlights is a spectacular sundeck observatory, two gymnasiums, an exquisitely styled interior and a dramatic glass elevator which also serves as a skylight.

Another Feadship offering in attendance will be the 1987-built 43m/141ft superyacht PRAXIS. Her classic lines are sure to stand out while docked in Newport Shipyard and those lucky enough to step aboard will be impressed by her outstanding entertainment and leisure facilities.

Two yachts from the Westport 130 range will be on show too, including the 40m/130ft motor yacht ‘Far Niente’ and the 40m/130ft motor yacht APHRODITE. The line is defined by its contemporary profile and refined interior spaces.

Plus, the 37m/120ft charter yacht BW from Palmer Johnson is also anticipated to be turning heads, with her sophisticated navy blue hull and sleek lines. Show-goers will be queuing up to get on board to check out her recent interior overhaul led by designer Adam Voorhees.
