Charter Yacht Silencio has been crowned winner of the 2013 Perini Navi Cup on Saturday in the biannual regatta for Perini Navi sailing yachts held by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda in Sardinia, ahead of P2 and Parsifal IV.
The final race took place in relative sunshine and moderate, but stable, wind conditions following the cancelation of Fridays race due to stormy weather. Silencio beat off stiff competition from P2, the 38m racing sloop and and other famous yachts from the Perini Navi fleet, including the iconic 88m charter yacht Maltese Falcon - to see a full list of the entrants visit our Perini Navi Cup 2013 event guide.
The owner of Silencio was overjoyed by his team's performance and at a news conference told reporters: "We've got an amazing crew, an amazing spirit on board, thanks to the captain and the tactician Dawn Riley and all the crew we did a great job, but above all we had a lot of fun. Six months ago we had never raced and we were unlucky at the Bucket but now you are going to start hearing more about Silencio. This is the start of a love story between the Cup and us! I'm very proud of the crew."
All three of the yachts on the podium this year are available for charter for regattas or luxury sailing vacations, for more information take a look at the entire global fleet of amazing Perini Navi yachts for charter, including the latest Perini Navi yacht 'State of Grace' which was delivered only a few months ago, or contact your yacht charter broker for details of luxury yachts for rental for a Sardinian yacht charter vacation.
