The must-see shortlist: The superyachts set to make their Antigua Charter Show debuts

The industry-only 2019 Antigua Charter Show is set to make a return to Antigua for its 58th edition between 4 - 9 December. This year, get a fresh look at the yachts on display with our round-up of the best debuting superyachts. 

One of the most important B2B events in the international yachting calendar, the Antigua Charter Show will be playing host to more than 50 charter yachts across three show locations this December.

The yachting meet is a mainstay for industry professionals including brokers, captains and crew. It acts as a key opportunity for attendees to tour the yachts on display, gathering first-hand insight and indulging in exclusive networking events.

86m /282ft sailing yacht AQUIJO

Builder: Oceanco & Vitters

Delivered: 2016

The world’s largest ketch, AQuiJo combines cutting-edge performance with state-of-the-art luxury amenities to create a yacht of exquisite calibre. She has recently been chartering around the most remote regions in the world; the South Atlantic archipelago of Ascension, Tristan da Cunha and Saint Helena.

Now, she is heading onwards to Antigua, where she will be appearing for the first time in Falmouth Harbour. This will be her worldwide yacht show debut, giving the industry an exclusive peak inside her refined interiors by Dölker & Voges. Among her stand-out amenities, she plays host to a large beach club with an elevated jacuzzi, sauna and steam room.

86m/ 280ft megayacht AQUILA

Builder: Derecktor Shipyards

Delivered: 2010 (refitted 2016)

A multi-award-winning superyacht, AQUILA holds the title for the largest yacht ever built in America. While she has wowed at FLIBS and the Monaco Yacht Show on numerous occasions, this will be her first time going on display at the Antigua Charter Yacht Show.

An invariably popular yacht charter platform, AQUILA features contemporary styling with a sleek grey colour palette courtesy of Redman Whiteley Dixon. Those at the show will be able to acquaint themselves with her charter-focused layout and on-board facilities, which include a sumptuous home cinema and glass-rimmed sundeck pool.

78m/ 257ft superyacht EMINENCE

Builder: Abeking & Rasmussen

Delivered: 2008 (refitted 2018)

With both exterior and interior design from Reymond Langton Design, luxury yacht EMINENCE is set to impress on the docks of Antigua. This will her first appearance at a charter show, meaning this will be one of the first occasions that yacht brokers will be able to get a good look on board. 

The motor yacht offers a large main salon complete with two separate lounging areas, a large TV screen and a sleek bar. Her alfresco areas are equally well-appointed, with spacious sundeck with a generous jacuzzi pool, intimate sofa seating and an inviting sunpad spread.

75.5m/248ft motor yacht WHEELS

Builder: Oceanco

Delivered: 2008 (refitted in 2019)

In pristine condition following a refit earlier this year, superyacht WHEELS will be welcoming show-goers on board at the 2019 Antigua Charter Show. Among her upgrades, she was bestowed with a new bar on the upper deck and an additional jacuzzi on the upper deck aft. 

The yacht is home to a range of on-board facilities to ensure guests experience complete relaxation and entertainment throughout their superyacht vacation. Her main salon converts into a nightclub and she is home to an aquarium wall and 360-degree observation area on the upper deck.

73m/236ft superyacht SOLO

Builder: Tankoa

Delivered: 2018

Fresh from an appearance at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show 2019, superyacht SOLO is heading onwards to the Caribbean to show off her Francesco Paszowski exteriors to attendees in Antigua. Those who haven’t stepped on board yet can expect show-stopping interiors, with a refreshingly dark and design-focused approach to her social spaces.

Stepping outside, she continues to impress with a variety of exterior areas primed for soaking up the sun. Her aft deck plays host to a sleek swimming pool, while the owner’s apartment and upper deck aft both offer oversized dip pools.

60m/198ft luxury yacht Rock.it

Builder: Feadship

Delivered: 2014 (Refitted in 2019)

Brand new to the charter scene, luxury yacht Rock.It is sure to be a popular yacht charter platform wherever she cruises. With her Feadship pedigree and Art Deco-inspired interiors by Sinot, she is a must-see for those at the Antigua yachting meet.

This will be the yacht’s first appearance as a superyacht for charter. Those attending the show will be able to explore her glossy mahogany surfaces, backlit onyx accents and touches of Macassar ebony.

50m/164ft charter yacht HOSPITALITY

Builder: Westport

Delivered: 2011 (Refitted in 2018)

A yacht with a host of charter-focused amenities, luxury yacht HOSPITALITY is one to see for brokers looking to recommend a prime platform for Caribbean yacht charters. She is a fantastic option for chartering across these tropical cruising grounds, with a library, gymnasium and skylounge fireplace at the disposal of guests.
