This viewpoint is a short but extremely rewarding hike located on Pianemo Island. With its unparalleled views of the island’s famous karsts, it is a breathtaking spot you won’t want to miss while chartering in the Raja Ampat.
After a luxury charter in the Coral Triangle filled with diving, Pianemo Island is perfect for those hiking enthusiasts in your party who want to break up the swimming with some on-land activities.
Pianemo Hill is roughly 40m high, making it the tallest of the 3 main hills on the island. The karsts on the way up to it can be sharp and therefore difficult to climb, so if you’re up for the challenge then be sure you bring appropriate footwear to avoid injury. If you still want to visit the Hill, but don’t fancy a big climb, then don’t worry as it can easily be reached via the 300 wooden steps (roughly a 10-minute climb).
Once at the top, expect to be wowed by the views out over the many honeycombed karsts that constitute Pianemo's collection of small islets. Thanks to Pianemo Hill’s wooden platform, you can enjoy the sights of the islets’ lush green jungles and surrounding crystal blue waters at your own leisure. You’ll also be able to spot the Star Lagoon from here, though we recommend following the hiking route nearby for a better view of its famous star-shaped waters.

For an elevated experience, fuel up on fresh coconut or blue crab that is available at the start of the wooden trail. Be sure to take your favourite drinks and snacks from your motor yacht to enjoy at the top before making your way back down.
