Al Tuguri is the place to go if you want to try Catalan style lobster. Served with a simple salad of tomatoes and onions, and dressed with olive oil, lemon and pepper, it is one of Alghero's most famous dishes.
If you are here in winter or springtime, you can sample another of the city's specialities, sea urchins, known locally as bogamari. At Al Tuguri they are served with homemade pasta.
The menu changes according to the latest catch, but red mullet, sea bass, squid, and mussels, prepared in classic Mediterranean dishes, are regular features, while there is a smaller selection of meat courses, including lamb and veal.
