7 Day Seychelles Charter Itinerary - Victoria to Mahe
One Week In The Seychelles
Ideal for Winter Season
Whether you are new to charter experiences or have at least two trips a year, the Seychelles are an ideal location for an idyllic luxury charter yacht holiday. With many islands only accessible by private vessel, there are many islands to explore, some of which will provide the private island getaway feel. Visit vanilla plantations, explore underwater vistas and indulge in some incredible food as your crew cruise through some impeccable scenery of the beautiful Indian Ocean.
- Day 1
Victoria
Landing at the International Airport on Eden Island, your week long tour of the Seychelles begins here.
Meet up with your luxury charter yacht in the harbour and familiarise yourself with your crew and the chosen vessel. There’s plenty of time to relax on the yacht later on in the day so head back to shore and explore this busy location. As a home to several holiday resorts, Eden Island sees a constant flow of mainstream tourists but there are ample amenities and facilities suitable for luxury charter yacht visitors. Indulge in a delicious, authentic meal at one of the family run restaurants before visiting some of the individual boutiques at Kenwyn House.
Before heading back to the harbour, take a stroll through the pretty botanical gardens to see some indigenous flora and fauna. This is also the perfect setting to get your first holiday photographs.
Your first evening in the Seychelles can be spent at one of the waterside eateries, or on the decking of your luxury charter yacht, watching the stunning sunset over the ocean.
- Day 2
St Anne
Setting off early from Eden Island, St Anne awaits with open arms.
As a major player in the St Anne Marine National Park you will come across some phenomenal levels of natural beauty. Vastly untouched by mankind the island of St Anne is pretty much as nature intended. The dense coverage of rainforest beckons to you on arrival so take the opportunity, while it’s early, to explore at your own pace. Look up and around to see native wildlife along the marked trails and then return to the coastline for a picnic on the beach.
Cooling off from the heat of the rainforest couldn’t be easier as the time has come for your first dive of the trip. The waters here are brimming with life so descend into the world beneath the waves to see an array of reef fish and rays. Leave enough time for a second dive of the day as your crew cruise around to St Anne Rocks. This dive site is one of the most frequently visited sites in this immediate area due to the incredible selection of marine life to see. In addition to the fish and rays you may have already met today, there is also the chance to see octopus, reef sharks and maybe even sea turtles.
To top off your day in this stunning location, head up to the deck of your luxury charter yacht for a seafood supper served with champagne or some locally inspired cocktails.
- Day 3
Praslin
Continuing on to your next port of call, the island of Praslin promises another day in a stunning setting.
After an energy boosting breakfast on board your luxury charter yacht, the morning will be spent taking a hike through the dense coverage of rainforest. Enjoy the beauty reaching up to the sky around you as you explore the area which is protected by it’s status of being World Heritage listed. A fascinating tree bearing oddly shaped nuts can be found in the Vallee de Mai. Shaped as a woman’s hips, these nuts caused quite a stir when they washed up on beaches in Africa.
After taking a short break at this UNESCO site, make the journey back towards your vessel for a well deserved drink and a light snack. The afternoon now beckons, so after an energetic morning why not continue the theme of the day and get out the water sports toys? Kiteboarding will give you a unique view of Praslin and when attached with a camcorder you can get some incredible footage of your memorable day in the Seychelles.
- Day 4
La Digue
On day four of your tour of the Seychelles you will see some culture and interesting insights into life in the Seychelles.
Anchoring down in the manmade harbour, your crew will delight you with a delicious breakfast as you prepare to head ashore. The first stop of your day is to visit one of the vanilla plantations on the island. Vanilla is one of the island’s main exports and gives the area a delightful scent. Breathe in the enticing fragrance as you are given a tour of the plantation and try some of the product for yourself. Make a purchase to take some home before heading back towards the main town of La Digue.
The locals are warm and friendly towards their visitors, all keen to show you their way of life and the products they can create from locally sourced ingredients. Have a light lunch at one of the family run eateries to try some delicacies and visit some of the shops to acquire some unique pieces. For something a little different, take the journey back to your luxury charter yacht on an ox cart. A bit of a slow journey, but a great experience to add to your list.
Spend the remainder of the evening indulging in a delicious michelin style meal on board your vessel with cocktails and starlight to finish.
- Day 5
Desroches
The pretty island of Desroches awaits as your crew anchor down in one of the unsheltered bays.
The waters can get a bit rocky around here with no protection from the wind, but if conditions allow you will have an incredible day on this island. The coast is littered with beautiful corals so jump into your diving gear to explore the stunning reefs adorning the island of Desroches. Watch the hundreds of fish flitting in and out of the formations and keep your eyes peeled for larger visitors like rays and reef sharks.
A small fishing resort can be found on the land, complete with some amenities for you to use. If some tanning time is on the cards, make the use of the sun loungers if you don’t fancy lying of the sand. Sample a selection of cocktails as you dry off in the sun, then retreat to your luxury charter yacht for some spa time and therapeutic treatments.
- Day 6
St Joseph
Mainly uninhabited, the island of St Joseph is an incredibly peaceful place for your last full day in the Seychelles.
Today will mostly be spent in the water but there’s also plenty of time to bring out the water toys if you’re in the mood for adrenaline pumping fun. Start off the day with a dive in the lagoon to see the abundance of marine life that lives here. Small breeds of sharks and rays also frequent this area so keep your wits about you to get some great underwater footage.
Surrounding the two mile wide lagoon of St Joseph are a small selection of sandy islets. Rest up from your diving session with a light lunch on one of the islets before wither heading back in to the water or bringing out the toys.
An ideal way to finish your last full day is with a feast of a beach barbeque with cushions, throws and an unbeatable sunset over the Indian Ocean.
- Day 7
Mahe
Your return journey to Mahe begins and the end of your Seychelle experience is coming to an end.
On arrival at Mahe take a little time to indulge in a few more purchases to take home for friends and family, sit on the beach for a last tan top up, then head to the airport to begin making plans for your next luxury charter yacht adventure.
