With her trademark jet black hull setting her nicely apart at the Mediterranean Yacht Show earlier this year, the editorial team at YachtCharterFleet spent an afternoon exploring the Greek built 40m/130ft motor yacht O’PATI in her native habitat.
Delivered from Golden Yachts in 2011, superyacht O’PATI unsurprisingly attracted a significant amount of attention as she sat amidst the beautiful surroundings of Nafplio, Greece.
Built less than a hundred miles away, superyacht O’PATI exuded an effortless cool as she sat outside the quaint seaport town which has become home to one of the most anticipated yacht shows in the Mediterranean.
Unquestionably unique in her sporty stylishness, her exterior was designed by the creative and award-winning talents at Giorgio Vafiadis & Associates. No strangers to Golden Yachts, the team have previously worked on the similarly dark 54m/176ft motor yacht ‘Mia Rama’ and the 53m/173ft luxury yacht O’NEIRO.
Accentuated by a thin red line stretching from her rounded stern to her sharp, wave-slicing bow, the dramatic profile playfully belies the light and contemporary atmosphere found inside.
Ultra-modern yet warmly inviting, the interior of superyacht O’PATI is a masterclass in light tones and thoughtfully arranged furnishings
Recognising that first impressions count for everything when it comes to being on board a superyacht, Studio Vafiadis clearly went to great lengths to establish a gentle calm in the main salon.
Indeed, with cream leathers and light woods surrounding similarly bright furnishings, guests are certain to feel immediately at home amongst the occasional gold flourishes and entertainment options on offer.
Forming the centre of the home cinema, the 45” LCD television screen is situated immediately in the break of the C-shaped sofa, providing charterers the opportunity to catch up with the latest blockbusters when they’re not busy socialising.
Flanked by extensive windows, O’PATI also benefits from a sheer abundance of natural lighting when underway and at-anchor around her cruising grounds.
Located a little further towards the aft, the formal dining space of luxury yacht O’PATI lines the starboard side whilst a cushioned wet bar occupies the port side.
Such a design ultimately makes the communal space feel huge, and allows charterers to transition between a number of different activities whilst enjoying the company of their party.
It’s possible, for example, for guests to utilise this arrangement to satisfy a broad range of gastronomic and social desires, whether they be entertaining or relaxing in nature.
Furthermore, by making good use of zebrano wood, a material popular among Greek superyachts, the fixtures found at this end of O’PATI are highly comfortable and create an ideal setting for cocktails after hours.
Primed for delivering only the most memorable of charter experiences, O’PATI allows guests to island-hop in wholly unparalleled luxury
Maintaining the rich combination of textures, the bridge of charter yacht O’PATI is so much more than simply a functional space.
Indeed, with ample seating found immediately behind the controls, charterers are able to accompany the captain whilst planning their itinerary- a design decision which has proved to be hugely popular amongst guests of all ages.
Heading down the broad staircase on the starboard side, charterers will then find themselves faced with a range of superbly appointed cabins.
Consistent with the general aesthetic of the yacht, the master cabin of O’PATI combines an array of neutral tones with additional furnishings to expand the possibilities available in this particular private space.
Whilst certainly minimalist in approach, such a term risks stripping the cabin of the incredible warmth it possesses.
What’s more, by amplifying the volume with strategically placed lighting, the room offers some much-needed quiet repose after a day spent out on the water.
Complete with both a walkaround wardrobe and separate shower and bathroom facilities, the amenities on offer are not too dissimilar to those typically found on much larger superyachts.
The remaining 4 staterooms are comprised of two doubles and two twins, each with their own dedicated en suites.
All variations on a decidedly elegant theme, each of the cabins is graced with a unique flash of colour to set themselves apart from the other choices found around the lower deck.
Such outstanding accommodation is unsurprising when you consider how O’PATI was designed as a charter yacht, and is hugely popular among families.
Furthermore, the twin cabins include a pullman berth to allow for a total of twelve guests to enjoy the yacht whilst away on a private charter.
In a league of her own, O’PATI is a superyacht which artfully blends rest with recreation
Besides looking cool and distinct from afar, the exterior of luxury yacht O’PATI is truly accommodating and more than rivals the options found inside.
Specifically, charterers are able to unwind amidst extended sunpads and seating in the utmost privacy thanks to her ingenious configuration. Indeed, by situating the sunpads towards the upper deck aft, Studio Vafiadis have ensured that there’s no danger of being interrupted whilst out in the sun.
Hugely versatile, a retractable awning can be momentarily applied by the crew to provide a more shaded environment when it comes to dining alfresco- such a dynamic ability to transform between a sunkissed haven and a more restful ambience simply cannot be overstated.
Reached by staircases on both the port and starboard sides, the tender garage secreted behind the transom door is stocked with a wide selection of the latest water toys sure to satisfy even the most adventurous of charter guests.
Of course, one of the chief features of O’PATI is the exterior spaces which have been created at the forward section of the yacht.
Particularly, the table which is surrounded by a C-shape sofa provides charterers with a highly commodious area in which to enjoy drinks and meals along with uninterrupted views across the water.
Only a short distance away, additional sunpads which equal the size of those found towards the aft offer even more options when it comes to sunbathing.
Thanks to a series of thoughtfully recessed lights, this aspect of O’PATI can be enjoyed by the entire party by both day and night.
Ultimately, O’PATI is a superyacht which marries a remarkable performance with a range of communal spaces, making her an ideal candidate for those who enjoy visiting numerous bays along miles of coastline whilst away on a charter vacation.
