Spotlight On VICKY

At the time of her launch, superyacht VICKY was the largest Turkish branded-yacht to date and easily the most distinctive. Full of surprises, she has many customisations that make her unique among Turquoise builds as well as across the entire charter fleet.  

Much of her individuality is down to the incredible work of London-based H2 Yacht Design and her atypical internal layout, which features a double height atrium, a master suite amidships on the bridge deck, five guest cabins forward on the main deck, and a lower deck spa.  

Blending elegant curves and graphic lines, her crisp white profile also sports some defining features, which ensure she stands out in the world’s best ports. These include a helipad on the tip of her sleek bow and fixed balconies amidships on her upper deck.

Elegant, timeless and inviting, VICKY radiates understated luxury across her guest living areas, a look achieved through a mix of traditional joinery and modern furniture, an earthy colour palette, contrasting chrome accents and a lack of excessive ornamentation.

For the best first impression, step inside via the aft deck’s sliding doors and be greeted by the main salon’s double-height atrium. The feeling of space and the amount of natural light flooding through the full-length windows is truly spectacular, and creates an incredibly welcoming atmosphere.

A textured cream carpet and pale wood wall panels supplement the light and airy feel, as an off-white, L-shaped sofa wraps around a black coffee table to form a lounge area to port alongside two caramel-coloured low back armchairs, a smaller grey sofa and a baby grand piano.

Running parallel with the starboard-side bulwark is another contemporary-shaped sofa with three small chrome coffee tables and, further forward, a high back chaise lounge.

Both a low dividing bureau and the lack of atrium above unobtrusively separates the lounge from a formal dining setup forward. Rich wooden floorboards border the space and a large, glossy, table is looked over by a tropical fish tank built into the forward bulwark.   

Although the two-level atrium means space is lost on the aft-section of the upper deck, there is still space forward for another comfortable seating area which, circular in shape, contrasts with the angularity of the lounge below.

Wooden floorboards stretch across the space, interrupted by a circle of carpet on which a long, curved sofa is joined by high back, amber leather armchairs and matching foot rests. With a glowing yellow light fixture above and rust-coloured scatter cushions the space is much warmer than the main salon.

There is also a huge widescreen television for movie nights on your charter vacation, and blackout curtains on all of the 22 floor-to-ceiling windows ensure the perfect ambience is created.  

Forward of the skylounge is a full-beam master suite, which unusually takes up the amidships section of the yacht. It is here that benefits from the two fixed side balconies seen on VICKY’s exterior, and they ensure the suite is bestowed with incredible vistas and brilliant air circulation.

Situated off a slip of corridor to starboard, a walnut-clad office provides direct access into an open-plan space that incorporates a bed to port and a large seating area, formed of a mink-coloured curved sofa, a leather chaise lounge and a widescreen TV.

A central strip of cream leather runs horizontally around the suite, bordered top and bottom by grained walnut. Rich and uncluttered, the suite is a serene and sumptuous retreat for the principal charter guest and, only reached via the suite itself, the balconies maintain its privacy.

With black-lit blue and white onyx, the beautiful en-suite features a large square bath bookended by his and hers showers, and two his and hers sinks. There is a large dressing room for her, with two separate entrances for the utmost convenience.  

Traditionally found on the lower deck, the five guest staterooms aboard charter yacht VICKY all span off a central corridor on the forward section of the main deck. This ensures all guests benefit from ample natural light and reserves space on the deck below for an expansive spa.

To access the cabins, guests must pass through the main entrance where the walls are lined with alternating horizontal stripes of dark wood and mirrors which reflect the backlit floors. There is an elevator here too, servicing three levels from the spa deck to the upper deck.

Made up of four doubles cabins and a single cabin, the staterooms are all individual in style. One light and airy offering features a four poster bed with soft mink drapes and white walls, while another is adorned in walnut and dark accents for a more masculine feel.

One of VICKY’s most memorable features is her lower deck spa, which takes a holistic approach to the health and wellbeing of charter guests. Among the facilities are a steam room, shower, spa pool and treatment room to port, while there is a central yoga area and gym equipment.

To starboard, a u-shaped sofa opposite a faux fireplace and television offers a cosy lounge, aft of which is a four-metre drop-down swimming platform which, when lowered to sea level, transforms into a luxe beach club.

Asian-inspired, the whole expanse offers a warm and tranquil atmosphere, with teak floors and joinery, limestone, dark woods, orange-veined onyx and vibrant mosaics.  Not only can guests retreat here to indulge in spa therapies, it is also acts as a chill-out area by day and night.

Opportunities for relaxation and getting together with loved ones are also available across VICKY’s sophisticated deck areas. Perfect for greeting guests and serving welcome cocktails is the aft deck, equipped with a large U-shaped sofa and coffee tables.

A square, eight-seater table surrounded by director style chairs is the main focus of the upper deck aft, offering a casual dining area under the shade of the overhang above. Intimate seating areas, meanwhile, are scattered around the edges of the deck.

Upholstered in natural fabrics and boasting accents of chrome, rich-coloured timber and white shiny surfaces, the furniture ensures a muted yet soothing ambience and this continues onto the sundeck above, which is sure to become the daytime hub of your charter vacation.

VICKY’s sundeck is one of the largest in her size range, allowing guests to partake in their own activities without disturbing each other. The jewel in the crown is a 5-metre-long pool forward with an integrated hot tub and decorated in glittering tiles.

After taking a refreshing dip, guests can dry off on the surrounding expanse of sunpads, protected from sea breezes but still allowing uninterrupted vistas thanks to a transparent screen. If shade is needed, retreat under the radar arch where there is a large alfresco seating area.

Further aft is an alfresco dining table capable of seating 16 guests and a retractable Bimini ensures shade can be provided if necessary. Along the aft-most section is another sumptuous seating arrangement and portable sun loungers offer a chance to catch some rays.

At night, the deck converts into an alfresco nightclub perfect for an event charter. As well as serving drinks, a bar located forward of the radar arch features built-in lighting and there is a DJ console.

One remaining guest deck area is the aft swim platform, where guests can make the most of VICKY’s extensive collection of water toys. She is even a RYA training school for those who want to pick up a new skill while undertaking their private yacht charter.  

H2 Yacht Design was tasked with working alongside Turquoise Yachts to create a multi-functional superyacht, which priorities the comfort of guests and possesses a definite wow factor.

VICKY certainly serves many purposes. From the holistic spa and drop-down swim platform to the ample lounging and dining options to her versatile sundeck, she caters to a whole host of guests with a whole host of agendas.

What’s more, these adaptable spaces are all equipped with the wow-factor, such as her stunning double height atrium and Asian-inspired spa, and a key element of their success in is their departure from what is usually expected from a superyacht.

Yet, what must be noted, is that VICKY has the capability to impress without being overly lavish and ostentatious.  She emanates a composed dignity across her interior and exterior, which captivates and entices guests with its extraordinary comfort, understated luxury and inimitable style.
