Portsmouth, Virginia
2 - 14 Nov 2014
The ARC Caribbean 1500 is the longest-running ocean-crossing rally in North America and 2014 will mark the 25th edition of the event.
Sailing from Portsmouth, VA, at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay, to Nanny Cay on Tortola, British Virgin Islands, the start port and dates of the ARC Caribbean 1500 makes the most of the weather to maximise the participant’s Caribbean sailing experience.
Now officially branded the ARC Caribbean 1500, in keeping with World Cruising Club’s other rallies, it is a popular regatta, known by those who sail it simply as ‘1500’. Celebrating the event’s 25th anniversary, the Rally has seen some significant changes since 2011 but has retained the spirit of the race. Moving to Portsmouth, Virginia last year, the event is now hosted by the Ocean Marine Yacht Centre.
