A new deal to keep the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne will see the Albert Park race continue to host the race.
Well-known as a favourite among F1 teams and drivers alike, the Albert Park street circuit in Melbourne will hold the opening race of the 2014 FIA Formula One World Championship. The on-track action can be enjoyed from numerous vantage points around the circuit and there will be no shortage of entertainment for fans away from the race.
The sporting event will commence on Thursday 13 March with support races, followed by practice sessions on the 14th, qualifying on Saturday 15th and the actual race on Sunday 16th March 2014. Set in beautiful parkland with artificial lakes and cricket fields in southern Melbourne, the Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit boasts a unique atmosphere unlike any other circuit. A combination of high, medium and low-speed corners, chicanes and several overtaking areas in braking zones, nothing compares to the adrenalin-charged action of the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix.
In a recent development, Berne Ecclestone has stated that a new deal to keep the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne is 'as good as done' with lawyers in the process of finalising the revised contract. Just days before the 2014 Grand Prix begins, the news is sure to boost the party atmosphere.
