81m Heesen yacht GALACTICA leaves Oss shed in the Netherlands

By Nina Done   7 January 2022

Following her technical launch in November 2021, the impressive 81m (265ft) yacht GALACTICA, previously known as Project Cosmos, has departed her shed at the Heesen shipyard this morning in preparation for sea trials later this month.

As the biggest and fastest all-aluminium yacht ever built with a top speed of almost 30 knots, she marks an exciting milestone for the Dutch shipyard, signalling a successful start to the year.

Winch Design is responsible for her striking exterior replete with a sporty silhouette and extensive use of glass, in collaboration with Heesen. While Sinot Yacht Design and Architecture penned her elegant interiors, characterised by subtle blue hues and clever use of light infused throughout the design.

Onboard highlights include a beach club with a backlit onyx bar, a glass-bottom pool with a waterfall effect and a fully-certified helideck that transforms into an open-air cinema.

GALACTICA provides accommodation for 12 guests across six cabins, including a highly private on deck Owner’s stateroom.

Will she be available for charter?

She is thought to be a private yacht that will not be available for yacht charter. If you are interested in this yacht, take a look at the range of other Heesen yachts currently available to rent.
