Officials have confirmed that tourists arriving from the EU, UK and Israel will no longer be required to quarantine if they hold a valid green pass, available subject to conditions. It is expected that US citizens will be added to this list from mid-June onwards. Furthermore, with COVID-19 numbers markedly decreasing the popular yacht charter destinations of Sardinia, Italian Riviera and Venice, amongst others, have now been downgraded to 'white' zones with no restrictions, which is fantastic news for those wishing to book yacht charters around these regions.
The conditions for obtaining a green pass are either;
- Proof of full vaccination (both doses)
- A negative PCR test, no older than 48 hours upon arrival into Italy
- Certificate showing proof of recovery from COVID-19 in the last 6 months
Curfews have also been abolished in white zones, with all restaurants, cafes, bars and pubs open, as well as most shops. Movement between regions is also permitted, with the green pass enabling access to amber and red zones, opening the areas for yacht charters to move freely within the regions once more.
All COVID-19 restrictions are expected to be lifted from 30 July, although this is likely to be earlier.
Whether you prefer the rugged pastel-hued charm of the Italian Riviera, the glamour and decadence of the Amalfi Coast or the cultural delights of Venice, Italy offers a superlative choice of luxury yacht charter destinations to whet even the most discerning guests' appetite.
