New footage has emerged showcasing the impressive scale and amenities on board 101.5m/333ft Feadship superyacht SYMPHONY (Project 808) as she travels through the narrow waterways of the Alphen aan den Rijn.
Reportedly ahead of schedule and currently in the final phase in her transport (started on 13 March), motor yacht SYMPHONY has been transported by a bow thruster – especially fitted for her journey from Feadship’s facilities to Juliana Lock in Gouda for sea trials. Attracting large crowds throughout her journey, on Saturday SYMPHONY was seen being transported across Gouda’s Railway bridge in remarkable scenes captured in the Netherlands.
The video above showcases the luxurious features found across her six expansive decks, in particular her fully-certified helipad and large swimming pool aft – with lower decks bearing resemblance to Heesen superyacht GALACTICA. Furthermore the footage displays the skill of designer Tim Heywood to highlight SYMPHONY’s grandeur with elegant lines and attractive exterior spaces without compromising on a superyacht ‘feel.’
It appears SYMPHONY may also feature a large Beach Club for guests to enjoy, as the image below shows a greater level of detail than the typical tender garage.
Feadship’s efforts behind building their largest superyacht are particularly notable. The building process of Project 808 meant in 2012 its hull arrived in two parts to be assembled at Feadship’s Kaag shipyard. Due to the scale of her beam, the two sections had to lifted above Juliana Lock (in Gouda). A new lock measuring 14 metres wide, 115 metres long and 3.5 metres deep - featuring the extra width of two car bridges - was needed to accommodate M/Y SYMPHONY (measuring approximately 13.8m in width).
The first Feadship to be complaint with the new Passenger Yacht Code regulation, she will offer well-appointed accommodation for between 16-20 guests on a charter vacation.
SYMPHONY is now in Rotterdam alongside fellow Feadship builds 83.5m M/Y SAVANNAH – recently launched from the Royal Van Lent shipyard - and 46m M/Y COMO. Her delivery will take place after her fitting-out and sea-trials are completed.
Unconfirmed sources have indicated she will travel to St. Maarten for the remainder of the winter season. For more information on chartering megayacht SYMPHONY, or any other pedigree Feadship charter yacht, please contact your preferred charter broker.
