Signalling the start of the Mediterranean superyacht season, the Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta 2015 opened today, with seasoned racers including S/Y OHANA and S/Y MARIE participating in the regatta.
Originating from 2008, and organised by the Yacht Club Costa Sme (YCCS), the Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta each year attracts a growing number of luxury yachts to Sardinia to compete in four gripping days of racing.
Testing the wits of variety of sailing yachts - from classic to modern, performance to cruisers - in Costa Smeralda's stunning aquamarine waters, the event offers a busy schedule of racing and social events.
This year, 55m/180ft Vitters sailing yacht MARIE is the largest yacht participating in the regatta - a previous winner of the St. Barth's Bucket. She will race in a fleet of 15 racing yachts, also including 50m/163ft Fitzroy charter yacht OHANA and 30m/99ft Southern Wind charter yacht 'Cape Arrow.'
