Newport Charter Yacht Show 2018 draws closer

By Rebecca Bradbury   11 June 2018

The Newport Charter Yacht Show 2018 will bring together close to 20 world-class superyachts as well as leading industry professionals when it gets underway next week at Newport Shipyard on Rhode Island, New England, from 18 to 21 June.

Celebrating 35 years in existence, the long-running event will, as always, present a showcase of luxury charter yachts alongside a display of ancillary goods and services related to the industry.

Dedicated exclusively to charter professionals, the show will welcome agents, brokers, owners and captains, who are all interested in finding out more about New England yacht charters.

Heading up the fleet at 60 metres is superyacht ‘Blue Moon’, a 2005 Feadship build attending for the second year in a row. With one of the most exquisite exteriors ever delivered by the yard, an original 1972 Riva tender and a huge master suite, she will be one of the must-see yachts at the show.

Another yacht sure to be centre of attention is the 44m/145ft motor yacht DOMANI. Delivered by Benetti in 2004, she features a timeless Carol Williamson interior, which blends harmoniously with inviting deck areas designed for relaxing, dining and entertaining.

Show-goers will also be keen to check out the $1.5 million refit on the 37m/123ft luxury yacht TEMPTATION from Palmer Johnson. She is one of the most stylish yachts of her size on the water, with plush interior styling, a luxe hardtop sundeck and a fully-stocked water toy collection.

One of the few sailing yachts signed up to attend is the award-winning 33m/108ft charter yacht MARAE. This 2004 build from Alloy Yachts combines classic looks and timeless appeal with the spaciousness, comfort and performance expected from a modern-day charter option.

Alongside the superyacht displays, there will be a number of seminar sessions, including a need for speed rotating roundtable session where six speakers have a 15-minute time slot to present to groups of up to 10 people. Evening yacht hops and cocktail parties will also take place.

Five crew competitions are on the programme too. This year’s Chef Competition theme is desserts, while tablescaping and cocktail contests will also give crews an opportunity to showcase their skills.

For more information on any of the above yachts, speak to your preferred charter broker.
