Preparations Get Underway for the Phuket International Boat Show 2017

By Rebecca Bradbury   3 January 2017

International exhibitors, leading brokers and an impressive line-up of luxury yachts are getting ready to descend on the Royal Phuket Marina in Thailand for the 2017 Phuket International Boat Show (PIMEX).

The longest-running marine and lifestyle show in South East Asia, the Phuket International Boat Show (PIMEX) will run from 5th to 8th January, ensuring the 2017 yachting calendar gets off to a fantastic start.

One of the highlights of this year’s edition will be a new Superyacht Event held on Koh Rang Noi, a nearby private island accessible from the award-winning Royal Phuket Marina via a 10-minute luxury tender ride.

A number of superyachts available for both charter and sale will be anchored at the exclusive island location, and interested clients will be able to step aboard for viewings and tours.

Another new element for 2017 will be a unique focus on boat charters, with the top broker companies providing advice and information about charters in Thailand and the nearby waters of Myanmar and the Andaman Islands.

Other new additions will be a variety of luxury lifestyle side events such as fashion shows, cooking classes, wine and whiskey tastings, a comprehensive conference and seminar programme, and a new mariner market.

These exciting new additions will run alongside the show’s well established programme of over 120 brands and boat builders exhibiting in the in-hall display areas, and more than 40 yachts will be available for viewings in the marina.

A record of more than 5,000 visitors attended 2016’s event and the this year’s edition is expected to see even more attendees pass through its doors, including yachting clients, potential purchasers, and professionals from the yachting and luxury markets.

Such a wealth of individuals mean that every major player in the region will be in attendance for what is expected to be the biggest event yet, further cementing its reputation as Asia's favourite boat show.

This year’s edition is expected to see even more attendees pass through its doors, including yachting clients and professionals, and potential purchasers
