Round-Up of Day 2 at the Dubai International Boat Show 2017

By Rebecca Bradbury   2 March 2017

YachtCharterFleet was on the ground in Dubai yesterday for the second day of the Dubai International Boat Show 2017, which presented yet another jam-packed programme of yachting activity and glittering superyacht displays.

On Wednesday 1st March 2017, the 25th edition of the Dubai International Boat Show opened its doors for day two of the show and, for the second day in a row, the boardwalks of the Dubai International Marine Club were a buzzing hive of activity as visitors sought out the 450 yachts and watercraft on display.

The scores of exhibiting boat builders, such as Oceanco and Lurssen, luxury lifestyle brands and marine accessories, including the latest must-have water sports toys, were also back doing business with high-net worth attendees from around the world, and a glittering display of supercars were lined up along the designated promenade.

Highlights of the second day included extreme catamaran rides in the sparkling waters, spectacular flyboarding stunts from the professionals and live music in the exclusive beach zone, reinforcing Dubai’s status as one of the world’s most exciting leisure marine hubs.

Captains, crews and industry brokers were also busy aboard the 19 attending superyachts, all looking spectacular glistening in the sunshine against the iconic Dubai skyline. While, at night, the luxury yachts lit up the water with their innovative underwater lighting systems.

Sleek and stylish, the all-silver 77m/253ft luxury yacht ‘Silver Fast’ was once again turning heads, fast-becoming one of the most talked-about features of the show. Those lucky enough to step aboard were also wowed by the simple elegance of her interior and state-of-the-art amenities such as her spa facilities.

Feadship’s 70m/230ft charter yacht JOY was likewise the object of much admiration. Lined up in the marina, visitors could check out her radical Bannenberg and Rowell-designed lines, while those invited on board were impressed by the fresh perspective Studio Indigo has brought to her interior.

For the first time in the show’s history, UAE-based Gulf Craft was also in attendance, showcasing two of its latest launches, the 47m/154ft motor yacht ‘Majesty 155’ – the yard’s first displacement superyacht - and the 41m/135ft motor yacht ‘Majesty 135’.

Day three of the Dubai Boat Show will run today from 3pm to 9pm local time and YachtCharterFleet will be in the heart of the action, keeping you up-to-date with the latest news and happenings. The show runs until Saturday 4th March.
