Set against the stunning backdrop of the ultra-modern Dubai skyline, the Dubai International Boat Show brought out buyers and industry leaders as it got underway yesterday afternoon.
With around 30,000 visitors from over 120 countries, the Dubai International Boat Show looked to be living up to its impressive reputation as it opened for business yesterday.
Now in its 24th year, the event showcases a wide variety of yachts in the highly regarded Dubai International Marine Club, with a freshly installed beach area ensuring that the show remains family-friendly.
Focussing on sailing, fishing, and watersports this year, demonstrations range from the ever-exciting flyboards to the other developments taking place in marine equipment.
Cementing Dubai’s place in the yachting world, the show also reveals exactly what makes it such an ideal charter destination
Whilst the large majority of yachts on display in the marina are for sale, the event nonetheless demonstrates the commitment Dubai has made to the yachting industry, and the possibilities it opens up for a charter vacation.
Indeed, with all of its modern architecture, boutique stores, and five star resorts coming into existence only a few years ago, it’s a destination unlike any other.
For those after something a little more adventurous, there’s also the opportunity to surf the sand dunes out in the desert.
Whilst the launch date for the project remains unknown, the Dutch shipyard Oceanco announced at the opening of the event further details surrounding the build of the 90m superyacht MOONSTONE. To find out more, read our blog piece here.
Similarly, Feadship, Lurssen, Heesen, and Bennetti are all exhibiting in the ‘Superyaht Life Area’ to provide invaluable advice for those interested in owning and chartering luxury yachts.
