After a monumental build effort in record time, the first ever superyacht marina on the Red Sea coast has been welcoming yachts in time for the inaugural Saudi Arabia Grand Prix, where lucky visitors will get the chance to preview the world-class Jeddah Yacht Club (JYC) before its grand opening in March 2022.
In a continued bid to promote economic growth in the area, the JYC marina and yacht club marks the first foray into major yachting developments that are set to take place in the kingdom over the next ten years.
Mohideen Nazer, Director of Parks and Resorts at SELA is delighted that the yachting world has its first home address on Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea, confirming that the project is “a major first step to turn the Red Sea Coast into a compelling destination for yachting aficionados to enjoy our amazing cruising grounds.”
The new marina, opened on the eve of the F1 event, will be able to accommodate over 100 yachts up to an impressive 120m (394ft) in length, and will provide a convenient stop-off point for yachts heading to the popular cruising grounds of the Indian Ocean and SouthEast Asia. Long and short-term berths are already available to book at port JYC Marina.

The Saudi Authorities have already confirmed recognition of the JYC marina as a port authority, which means all immigration and customs can be handled directly on site, including for foreign-flagged vessels chartering the region.
The marina will also be able to provide convenient repair and maintenance facilities once completed.
Shaping up to be a world-class facility, the JYC will be the perfect complement to the marina, offering visitors the ultimate platform for “diverse, world-class experiences across a spectrum of social, sport and leisure activities.”
The JYC will be home to a 5,000m² club house as well as an array of spectacular amenities, including a wellness centre, concierge services, Michelin Star-rated chef Jason Atherton restaurant and a Beach Club featuring an infinity pool with glorious views over the Red Sea.
During the inaugural Saudi Grand Prix, special guests will get the chance to preview and experience the club first hand, where hospitality and entertainment will be laid on for these future JYC members and VIPs to enjoy throughout the F1 weekend.
The first ever Saudi F1 is being held at the Jeddah North Corniche, running from 3-5 December, and looks set to be one of the most exciting F1 races in recent history. Please read our Saudi Arabia Grand Prix event guide for more information.
