Superyachts gear up for the 2022 Formula 1 grand finale in Abu Dhabi

By Nina Done   14 November 2022

Representing one of only two marina-based Grand Prix circuits, superyachts are already lining up in Yas Marina to catch all the exhilarating action at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2022, in anticipation of what surely promises to be a hotly contested race finale.

As the day turns into night for Formula 1's only twilight event in the race calendar, the atmosphere becomes electric as the cars begin to roar on the circuit for the start of the final meeting of the season. With the drivers and constructors championships already in the bag, there’s nothing to lose for the drivers who will be going all out to claim the coveted title for the last race of the season.

Although Red Bull have clinched both the Driver and Constructor championships for 2022, Ferrari and Mercedes – in 2nd and 3rd place respectively – will be battling it out for the all-important runner’s up position, where they'll be awarded multi-million dollars in prize money and hard-fought prestige.

Yas Marina Circuit

Comprising over five kilometres of pristine tarmac, 21 turns and one of the longest straits of any F1 racing circuit, visitors will marvel as the competitors reach dizzying speeds of up to 335 km/hr, putting their driving prowess to the ultimate test.

Designed by Hermann Tilke, the circuit is one of just two in the world which allows the races to be watched from the comfort of a superyacht. The track loops past the glamorous Yas Marina, offering lucky on-board guests the opportunity to view the cars as they tear around the circuit, with the best seats in the house located mere metres away between turns 14 and 15.

VIP Hospitality

Even if you haven’t booked an Abu Dhabi Grand Prix yacht charter for the epic finale to the F1 season, you still have the chance to step aboard a superyacht at the illustrious event when you book a luxury yacht hospitality package.

Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Yacht Hospitality deals are the ultimate way to watch the races and enjoy all the socialising and glamorous after-party vibes in a luxurious setting.

While all packages are different, the best offer a premium trackside berth with clear views over the cars as they speed past, as well as Q and A sessions with famous F1 drivers, access to the F1 Paddock and the exclusive Pit Lane Walk.

Party till dawn

As the races draw to a close, the party atmosphere begins to ramp up, with exclusive appearances from world-famous DJs spinning their decks to an adoring crowd and bands performing intimate on-board concerts.

For this year's Grand Prix event, organisers have confirmed a stellar lineup of artists headlining the ever-popular Yasalam After-Race Concerts across the race weekend, including 8-time Grammy award winner Usher, Dave, Swedish House Mafia, Kendrick Lamar and Def Leppard.

Yas Marina also plays host to a variety of lively bars and eateries that come alive as the sun goes down, with pop-up events a popular option where you can enjoy DJ sets and live music keeping race-goers entertained from dusk till dawn. Offering everything from sundowner cocktails to glittering light shows and hedonistic club nights, there is sure to be something to suit everyone.
