The award-winning 70m/230ft charter yacht JOY is one of the latest yachts to confirm their attendance at The Superyacht Show, a brand new yachting event premiering in Barcelona at the OneOcean Port Vell from 2 to 5 May.
There is no doubt JOY will be the centre of attention when The Superyacht Show gets underway in Spain next month. Delivered by Feadship in July 2016, she is a yacht that challenges conventions, making her one of the most exciting additions to the charter market in recent years.
Her radical exterior styling from Bannenberg & Rowell, with its complex shapes and surfaces, is sure to turn the heads of show-goers, while those lucky enough to step aboard will be wowed by the wealth of outdoor spaces and the stunning interior styling from London-based Studio Indigo.
She has been designed for those who value spending time outdoors on their yacht charter. There is a huge emphasis on the exterior-interior flow, with the boundaries between indoors and out constantly blurred and extensive glazing providing guests with a constant backdrop of their cruising grounds.
The sundeck and its inviting pool create the ultimate daytime perch while, closer to the water, a transom door lifts up to provide shade on the bathing platform and to open up a chic beach club complete with a huge video wall for watching movies at sea.
There is an expansive terrace forward of the master suite, which can serve as either a basketball or badminton court or simply as a place to unwind with the family. Then there is the glass-enclosed gym on the bridge deck aft, as well as the ‘winter gardens’ on both the main and upper decks, fitted with removable glass panels.

Each area within the interior of luxury yacht JOY is given its own unique character. This has been achieved by using a diverse range of materials and patterns. There are, in fact, 250 different finishes on board and the result is a contemporary yet classic look, which immediately puts guests at ease.
Features such as silk and nettle carpets lure guests into the main salon to relax on the low and comfortable seating and grab a drink from the Irish whiskey bar. The upper salon above, meanwhile, which forms part of the master deck, is a dedicated family area.
The master suite, with 270-degree views from the large bed, takes up the forward part of the upper deck. There are two staterooms aft, acting as either VIP or children’s’ cabins, while three double cabins are on the main deck and two twin cabins, as well as a treatment room, are on the lower deck. In total, the motor yacht sleeps 12 guests in eight cabins.
Organised by LYBRA, The Superyacht Show offers both potential superyacht buyers and charterers the opportunity to step aboard some of the world’s leading yachts in an exclusive and private setting.
